How to Choose a Good Roblox Username

1. Say it out loud. If a friend can't repeat it back after hearing it once, it fails the most important test.
2. Keep it under 10 characters where you can — shorter names are easier to remember, type and fit in game UIs.
3. Skip birth years. Numbers date a name instantly and weaken its brand score; if you want digits, a single lucky number reads better than four.

Competitive names go the other way: hard consonants, short attack words, and the visual language of gamer tags — clutch, frag, blitz, a clean XV or a single digit. The Gaming, Sweaty and Tryhard styles generate this natively, and the gaming-appeal score tells you how strongly each result reads as a competitor's tag. One caution from every competitive community: xX-wrapped names read as 2012 throwbacks — use the prefix mutation deliberately or not at all.

For 3–5 character names, switch to the OG or Short style and set the length range accordingly — the engine changes strategy entirely, blending word fragments and coining syllables instead of joining full words. Expect invented-but-pronounceable output like "Nyra", "Vexo" or "Ryn". These score highest on rarity and minimalism, and they're the category where checking availability at signup matters most.

A streamer name has one extra job: strangers must be able to find it after only hearing it. That means unambiguous spelling (no leet substitutions, no silent letters), strong pronunciation scores, and enough uniqueness that search results aren't crowded.
